Winchester Pike at Brice Road/Bixby Road
Status: The new Bixby Road connector and south lane of Winchester Pike are complete. Construction of the new traffic signal, north lane of Winchester Pike, and the new Brice Road connector will continue through October 2016, weather permitting. This work requires a road closure on Brice Road to make the connection to Bixby Road.
Traffic: Traffic on Winchester Pike will be maintained during construction. Brice Road will be closed through October with a posted detour. The posted detour for southbound motorists will follow Shannon Road east to Gender Road, south to Winchester Pike, and north to Brice Road. Northbound motorists will follow the detour route in the opposite direction.
Construction of a New Intersection at Winchester Pike and Bixby Road/Brice Road Begins March 14
(Franklin County, Ohio - March 8, 2016) --- Dean C. Ringle, P.E., P.S., Franklin County Engineer, announces construction of a new intersection at Winchester Pike and Bixby Road/Brice Road, including the installation of a new traffic signal, will begin on Monday, March 14, 2016. Construction will last through September 2016, weather permitting.
Traffic on Winchester Pike will be maintained during construction. Phased closures with posted detours for Brice Road and Bixby Road are necessary to construct the new intersection. Advanced notice signs will be posted prior to the closures. Detour routes will also be posted. Drivers should expect increased congestion and delays.
The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph in the project area. Speed limits signs will be posted and enforced. Please slow down and watch for workers in the construction area.
Access to all driveways and subdivisions within the project limits shall be maintained.
The Franklin County Engineer's Office will supervise this project. Work will be performed by Kenmore Construction Company, Inc. The project is federally funded by the County Commissioners Association of Ohio, Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, Ohio Public Works Commission and Franklin County License Plate Fees.
