Clime Road Widening and Reconstruction, Phase I

 

New Pavement on Clime Road

Managed by the Franklin County Engineer's Office

Location: Harrisburg Pike (U.S. Rt. 62) to just west of Talbot Place (located east of Demorest Road).

Description: Reconstruction and widening of the roadway to accommodate east and westbound lanes, a center turn lane, and two bike lanes; construction of a concrete box culvert, storm sewers, curbing, gutters, driveway aprons, sidewalks, and a water line; and installation of new street lighting and traffic signage.

Status: Roadway, storm sewer, and railroad crossing gate replacement work is underway. 

Traffic: East and west bound travel is being permitted throughout the project using newly built pavement on the north side of Clime Road.

Motorists are urged to drive cautiously and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Slow moving traffic and possible delays should be expected.

Contractor: George J. Igel & Company

Cost: $7.9 million to be funded by the Federal Highway Administration and Ohio Public Works Commission through the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission.

Scheduled Completion: August 2010.
