Clime Road Widening and Reconstruction

 

Managed by the Franklin County Engineer's Office

Location: Georgesville Road to Talbot Place, east of Demorest Road.

Description: Reconstruction and widening of Clime Road to accommodate east and westbound lanes, a center turn lane, and two bike lanes; replacement of the bridge over Big Run, and the culvert east of Holly Hill Drive; construction of storm sewers, curbing, gutters, driveway aprons, and sidewalks; and installation of new street lighting, traffic signage, and signals.

Reconstruction and widening of Demorest Road, from Bonnie Court to Franklin Heights High School to accommodate north and southbound lanes, a center turn lane, and right turn lane on the north leg of the Clime Road intersection. 

Status: Road, driveway apron, sidewalk, and landscaping work is under way. The rebuilding of Clime Road at Demorest Road will require the intersection to be closed during a weekend this July followed by a three-week closure of Demorest Road south of Clime Road. 

Traffic: Clime Road is open to two-way travel.  

Contractor: Kenmore Construction Company

Cost: $11,885,324.95 funded by the Federal Highway Administration, through the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, and Ohio Public Works Commission.

Scheduled Completion: Fall 2012.
