West Main Street Bridge Replacement

Managed by the Franklin County Engineer's Office

Location: Over Alum Creek in the City of Westerville.

Description: Construction of a new concrete and steel, triple span, haunch girder bridge. Architectural enhancements include a modern-arch superstructure, and decorative railing and street lighting.

Status: Demolition and pavement work is under way. 

Traffic: West Main Street is closed to through traffic. The posted detour route for eastbound motorists follows Cleveland Avenue north to County Line Road, east to North State Street (S.R. 3) and south to West Main Street. Westbound motorists follow the detour route in the opposite direction.

Contractor: Kokosing Construction Company

Cost: $5,779,116.99 to be funded by Franklin County and the City of Westerville.

Scheduled Completion: August 2011.
