Clime
Road to be Closed 40 Days Starting February 16
Franklin
County
, Ohio
---
Dean C. Ringle
, P.E., P.S., Franklin County Engineer, announces that Clime Road, between
Harrisburg Pike (U.S. Rt. 62) and
Demorest Road, will be closed to through traffic for approximately 40 days
starting February 16, weather permitting. The closure is required by the
replacement of a culvert over a tributary to Big Run, located just east of Fall
Brook Road.
The
posted detour route for westbound motorists will follow Harrisburg Pike north to
Briggs Road, west
to Demorest Road, and south to Clime Road. Eastbound traffic will follow the
detour in the opposite direction.
“The
installation of a new concrete box structure is part of the first phase of the
over-all widening and reconstruction of Clime Road,” said Dean Ringle. “The
project involves the addition of a center turn lane and two bike lanes;
construction of storm sewers, curbing, gutters, driveway aprons, sidewalks, and
a water line; and installation of new street lighting and traffic signage.”
The
Franklin County Engineer’s Office is supervising the building of this $7.9
million project by George J. Igel & Company. Funding is being provided by
the Federal Highway Administration and the Ohio Public Works Commission through
the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission.
Completion
of the
Clime Road
widening and reconstruction project is scheduled for August 2010.
