Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road and Taylor Road Intersection Widening to Start around March 2

Franklin County, Ohio --- Dean C. Ringle, P.E., P.S., Franklin County Engineer, announces that the widening and reconstruction of the Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road and Taylor Road intersection will be under way on or about March 2 until late June 2009, weather permitting.

“This project will enhance traffic safety and mobility through the intersection,” said Dean Ringle. “Roadway improvements will include widening and reconstruction to accommodate left and right turn lanes; construction of storm sewers, curbing, and gutters; and installation of new traffic signals and signage.”

As work proceeds, Taylor Road will be closed to through traffic in early April for the duration of the project. The posted detour route for eastbound motorists on Taylor Road will follow Taylor Station Road north to Havens Corners Road, and east to Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road. Motorists on Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road wishing to travel west on Taylor Road will follow the detour in the opposite direction.

The Franklin County Engineer’s Office is supervising the building of this $1.4 million project by Shelly & Sands, Inc. Funding is being provided by Franklin County from motor vehicle registration fees and gasoline tax.
