Road Reopened for East and Westbound Travel, Construction to be Completed in
August 2010
Franklin
County, Ohio ---
Dean C. Ringle
, P.E., P.S., Franklin County Engineer announces that east and westbound travel
on Clime Road, between Harrisburg Pike (U.S. Rt. 62) and Talbot Place, has been
restored. The roadway had been closed to through traffic since mid-October for
pavement and railroad crossing construction west of Harrisburg Pike.
“Two-way travel has been reestablished using the newly
built pavement on the north side of Clime Road,” said Dean Ringle. “The south side will remain under construction until
the completion of the project in August 2010.”
Clime Road improvements, which began last February,
include reconstruction and widening of the roadway to accommodate east and
westbound lanes, a center turn lane, and two bike lanes; construction of a
concrete box culvert, storm sewers, curbing, gutters, driveway aprons,
sidewalks, and a water line; and installation of new street lighting and traffic
signage.
The Franklin County Engineer’s Office is
supervising the building of this $7.9 million project by George J. Igel &
Company. Funding is being provided by the Federal Highway Administration and the
Ohio Public Works Commission through the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission.
