Chatterton Road Improvement Project to be Under Way until Mid-September, Traffic to be Maintained

Franklin County , Ohio --- Dean C. Ringle , P.E., P.S., Franklin County Engineer, announces that  the widening and reconstruction of Chatterton Road to improve traffic safety and mobility, from Dunloe Road to Fleet Road, will be under way on or about July 16 until mid-September 2009, weather permitting.

“The project involves the widening of Chatterton Road to accommodate left turn lanes at the Dunloe Road and Fleet Road intersections,” said Dean Ringle. “We’ll also construct new asphalt pavement, storm sewers, a water line, sidewalks, wheel chair ramps, and traffic signage.”

Two-way travel will be maintained through the construction zone. Motorists, however, should expect slow moving traffic and possible delays.

The Franklin County Engineer’s Office will supervise the building of this $626,000 project by Savko & Sons, Inc. Funding will be provided by the Ohio Public Works Commission, Franklin County, and City of Columbus for the water line work.
