Alton
& Darby Creek Road
Widening and Reconstruction to
Require 30-Day Road and Intersection Closures
Franklin
County, Ohio
---
Dean C. Ringle
, P.E., P.S.,
Franklin County Engineer, announces that the widening and reconstruction of
Alton & Darby Creek Road to improve traffic safety and mobility through the
busy corridor will require Alton & Darby Creek Road, including the
intersections at Renner Road and Walker Road, to be closed to through traffic on
or about July 20, 2009 for approximately 30 days, weather permitting.
“The
project involves the widening of Alton & Darby Creek Road
to accommodate left turn lanes at the Renner Road
and Walker Road
intersections,” said Dean Ringle. “We’ll also construct new asphalt
pavement, storm sewers, and traffic signals.”
Local
access to homes in the construction area will be maintained.
The
posted detour route for southbound traffic on Alton & Darby Creek Road
will follow Roberts Road west
to Walker Road, south
to Jones Road, south
to Feder Road, and east to Alton & Darby Creek Road. Northbound traffic will follow the detour route in the opposite direction.
Walker Road
motorists will enter the detour route at Jones Road.
Renner Road
motorists will follow Spindler Road north
to Roberts Road
where they’ll enter the detour route.
The
Franklin County Engineer’s Office will supervise the building of this $1.4
million project by the Trucco Construction Company. Funding will be provided by
Franklin
County
from motor vehicle registration
fees and gasoline tax.
The
widening and reconstruction of Alton & Darby Creek Road
is scheduled to be completed by mid-September 2009.
